Chitin, beetle shells and a can-do attitude.

Grebennikov Vortices Propulsion History

Perhaps one of the most outlandish claims of the potential for alternative propulsion came from Viktor Stepanovich Grebennikov. Born in Simferopol, Russia in 1927, Grebennikov developed a theory called 'Cavernous / Cavitary structure effect'. This demonstrable and repeatable effect exists in nature and is used by certain winged insects. The validation of the effect in the natural world can be witnessed by anyone and has been repeated by various researchers.

Levitating electra jewel wings

To develop his theory, Grebennikov experimented with wings from Electra Jewel beetles. The wings are formed of a chitin compound. Chitin is a long chain polymer found in various instances in species ranging from crustaceans to mushrooms. The wings feature a honeycomb like structural form. It was Grebennikovs experience of honeycombs found in wild bee hives, that alerted him to the anomalous effects produced by chitin structures. As can be seen in the contemporary video demonstrations, there is definitely an effect that levitates the wings when they are placed in opposition to each other. In some ways this effect is comparable to the opposing force displayed by magnets placed in opposition to each others poles.

To prove the potential of this 'cavitary effect' Grebennikov harvested thousands of Electra Jewel Beetle wings and fixed them in opposing sequential arrays. Mounting the surfaces on a crude foot platform, he produced a vehicle allegedly capable of levitating his person 300 metres above the ground at speeds of 1500 kilometres per hour. Apparently the force generated by these opposing chitin arrays also created a field surrounding him and the platform. This field prevented him being impacted by the wind created as a result of such impressive speeds. Furthermore the effects of this field obscured him from observers on the ground producing only a light or cloud appearance - with no shadow. While operating the device, Grebennikov's wristwatch would make exaggerated movements  forward and backward in time. Inconveniently however, it also prevented the operation of any camera lens or shutters. Consequently he was never able to produce any exhaustive proof of his aeronautical prowess. Detractors have cited this lack of photographic evidence as clear evidence that Grebennikov was a hoaxer and a crank. However the effect displayed by the repetition of his chitin experiments can not be so easily discredited.

Grebennikov decided to publish a book in 1992 which apparently included photographs of a demonstration of the platform. However the publishers of the book interceded at the last minute with extensive censorship by way of edits and removals of imagery. Anyone familiar with the restrictions placed on 'Over Unity' development will recognise these overt methods of blatant suppression. Over Unity has been proven by numerous researchers in their garages and home workshops. Whether the additional power measured is actually zero point or is in fact an efficient transfer of the energy stored in the neodymium magnets is debatable. Nonetheless producers of Over Unity engines have faced major resistance from the Department of Energy and of course, the ubiquitous 'men in black'. Consequently the demonstrations available in the public arena are generally by those who have protected themselves by making their experiments the intellectual property of their Church.

Were it not for the trademark resistance and interference experienced by Grebennikov, it would be much easier to dismiss his claims. As usual, we learn more from looking at what the story is not, as opposed to what it is.
